Pinarello Time Trial Lo-Pro Campagnolo C-Record 26″/28″
In the late ’80s, when it was new, this Pinarello custom designed and hand built by Dario Pegoretti represented the state of the art of Italian hand built bicycle manufacturing. Incredibly for a bike that rides this fast, it would seem to have hardly been used, showing very few scars for being about three and a half decades old.
The paintwork is in overall very good condition, the decals are all intact, the chrome chain stay and fork are bright and shiny. The sloping fork crown and the seat stay caps are engraved with the GP initials, the rear brake cable is smoothly routed through the top tube.
As befits a frame of this calibre, this custom Pinarello was equipped from new with Campagnolo C-Record components. The delta brakes are adorned with Pinarello engravings, the outer chainring has the Pinarello name repeatedly engraved. The aero Cinelli stem features more Pinarello pantography, A Selle Italia Flite sits on top of a polished custom machined aero Campagnolo seat post. The rear derailleur wears its original white plastic jockey wheels, shrouded with an aerodynamic aluminium housing. The 42 / 51 tooth chainrings show very little use.
The wheelset comprises of a Khamsin rear disc and a 32 hole low flange Chorus front hub laced to a Nisi Laser rim with a bright silver finish, to which we have glued a pair of Gommitalia tubulars with the correct pale sidewall color of that period.
We purchased this incredible bicycle from a very friendly lady in the mountains of southern Germany who only used this sexy Pinarello for Time Trial racing. She shared a few stories with me, one of her winning the Women´s World Championships with an age of 36 years young and sadly after her great achievement, not one single Pro Team wanted to have her on their team so she decided to started a new career.
