A highly collectable road racing bicycle from Italian marque Oscar Simonato. This particular model features ‘hidden’ brake bolts, with the Campagnolo Super Record axles directly brazed onto the frame and fork for a clean look, and of course forever perfectly centered. The brakes themselves have been carefully milled all the way through in several sections. Brake levers have been carefully milled and drilled in the Super Record style. Seat post and stem are also milled, and carefully filled in. Record shifter levers and chainrings are similarly milled out and the frame set is built with Columbus Superleggero tubes. Camapgnolo Record hubs have been polished, re-greased and built with dark anodised Martano rims in great condition – known as the favoured rim of Masi in the ’70s and ’80s. Black leather saddle comes from cult Swiss manufacturer Assos, producer of top quality components that remain extremely sought after to this day. Chain and freewheel are from Regina, freewheel is a Regina Extra and chain is a Regina CX, both in great condition with lots of life left (checked with Rohloff tool).
Overall the bike is in top condition, showing little signs of use. All components are in great condition and are fully functional, ready to ride. There are a few minor scrapes to the paint that appear to be from storage rather than abuse. No dents or cracks. Tyres, cables bar tape are new (tyres are NOS). Wheel set can be exchanged for an equivalent set of clinchers should that be your preference.
