Maurizio Fondriest became World Champion on a Legnano in 1988 at a mere 22 years old. Binda, Bartali and Coppi also rode to victory on Legnano bicycles. Fifteen Giro d’Italia, seven World Championships and two Tour de France were achieved by Legnano riders. That is enough to roll call Legnano amongst the most winning and prestigious brands of all times in the Hall of Fame of Cycling. Founded in Milano, Legnano started manufacturing high-end racing bicycles around the 1920s under the lead of Emilio Bozzi. The brand was then sold to Bianchi, and especially the top end frames were then built in the Bianchi factory. This bike is exactly the same as Bianchi X4.
Legnano racing bicycles are instantly recognisable for their typical Legnano green paint. This Legnano belonged to the young World Champion Maurizio Fondriest. It is fully original and 100% authentic. The bike was only used as a spare bike by Maurizio Fondriest. However, it has seen action in a few races! It comes equipped with the matching racy III. generation C-Record group set that works perfectly! The paint is also all original and in excellent condition.
