A very rare SOMEC Top Class anniversary addition built up with a Full Pantographed Campagnolo Record 8 speed gruppo in size 55.5 cm, painted Mario Martini, probably the most beautiful paint job that I have ever seen.
SOcietĂ MECcanica was founded in 1973 by Oliviero Gallegati in Lugo di Romagna (Italy). Being a rather small manufacturer, Somec did not produce many bicycles, especially in their beginnings. Besides perfect craftsmanship they became famous in the 1980s for the use of advanced tubings, lugs and their special paintjobs.
The TOP CLASS was the top of the line for Somec in the early 90’s. Hand made by SOMEC‘s premiere artisan builders, this frame is made of ultra lightweight Nivachrome double butted Columbus EL steel with SOMEC’s signature flare for beautifully fillet brazed and dressed head to heals in the legendary Campagnolo Record gruppo with 3TTT stem and bars combo.
Function and form blend seamlessly in this dream machine.
