Eddy Merckx ‘Faema’ Road Bicycle. 61cm
Complete Eddy Merckx road bike for sale, painted in the famous Team Faema scheme. Handmade in Belgium.
We obtained this from the original owner, a dentist who used it exclusively for pro-am racing. No training rides on this thing! It bears a number holder, onto which we’ve installed our own Team Cicli Berlinetta race number. We’ve been holding on to this bike for a long time now, slowly working on the details. It is the same machine as was used by team Tönissteiner – TW Rock – BASF – 1985, and now it is ready to offer up for sale.
Features a full Campagnolo Super Record groupset. Brake levers are Eddy Merckx pantographed Nuovo Record, and have been perfectly cut out and shaped. Super Record chainrings with Eddy panto. Super Record front and rear derailleurs, front with aluminium tuning bolt. Pantographed Cinelli 1R stem and 66-42 Merckx bend bar (naturally).
The wheels consist of 32 hole, low flange Campagnolo Record hub set laced to red anodised Ambrosio Montreal tubular rims. Tyres are 25mm Clement Grifo ’61, with some profile. Killer tyres, super comfortable and great for gravel riding. Perfect for the Belgian pavés. If you would prefer a clincher wheel set, just let us know and we can sort you out with something of suitable quality. Polished Campagnolo Super Record seat post and brown leather Zeus 2000 saddle. All in all, a top quality, professional grade racing bike with no dents, cracks, rust or any other problems. Needless to say, no dents. This bike meets the entry requirements for any L’Eroica-style event.
