Here at Cicli Berlinetta we love to find the gems and this Colnago Super is no different. Complete with a Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset from 1976, beautiful Selle Royal Contour that was most often seen amongst many Peleton stars and custom pantographed components. Paint and decals are all original. Few bicycles have influenced the cycling scene as much as the Colnago Super. At a time when racing bicycles were fairly heavy with long wheelbases, Ernesto Colnago released the ‘Super’ which would become a staple of his 1970s and 1980s catalogues. Made of Columbus SL steel tubes, with a shorter, stiffer and lighter frame, it was was designed for high performance. It’s square gemeotry would be imitated by most other companies in the game.
The bike is in remarkable condition for its age. Included are a selection of pantographed components, 3ttt bar and stem and Campagnolo Super Record Panto seat post. The rest of the group set is Campagnolo Nuovo Record.
Finished in an elegant light blue, the paint is still in good condition with only a few small chips. Some light scratches of the top tube from the housing guides. All chrome is bright and intact. The wheel set features a pair of high-flange Campagnolo Record hubs laced to gold anodised FIAMME tubular rims, 36 front / 36 rear. It is also possible to exchange the wheels for a similar set of clincher rims if you prefer, just let us know your preference and we can lace something for you. All in all, a top quality, professional grade legendary race bike.
This bike most certainly will turn heads at any L’Eroica-style event.
