This bicycle saw competition use by Team Bianchi Gewiss in 1988, and is one of the first Time Trial optimized machines built for professional cycling. It marks the milestone in the development of racing machines, and a new era of hi-tech time trial equipment. A must have for every avid cyclist and passionate Bianchi collector!
One of the most eye-catching rides to come through our shop doors in recent times, this beauty has it all. The sloped and TIG welded Columbus MAX tube set combining stiffness and lightness. The frame is well-proportioned, this having been the state of the art of it’s time, finished in the legendary Bianchi ‘Celeste’ with dark blue Bianchi decals. The original riders name is written on the top tube *inver….. pic 17. Both the paint and decals are original and in pretty good condition.
The clear anodised C-Record group set gives the bike a classic and at the same time a very futuristic touch. Legendary Campagnolo Delta brakes are in great condition and work smoothly. The front wheel features a Record hub laced to a low profile Campagnolo silver rim. The rear wheel is one of the first fibreglass Ambrosio discs, in matching ‘Celeste’ turquoise.
The silver anodised 3ttt Crono TT Hour Record handlebar has been paired to a silver 3ttt 95mm stem with Bianchi and 51.151km (Moser’s Hour Record 1982) pantography. The original white rubber hoods are in perfect condition, with no tears, and are still soft. No scratches to the lever arms. The C-Record rear derailleur has been cleaned up and will require only a dab of polish every once in a while to keep it looking beautiful for the years to come. The aero shaped Campagnolo seat post is in top condition, and nicely topped off with an original blue perforated leather Turbo saddle.
