Masi Special Campagnolo Record Size 54.5 1966

Masi Special road bicycle, dating from approximately 1966. This bike is a fine example from the time when Falerio Masi was at the top of his game, building a name for himself as one of the top frame builders and bike fitters in the world. Each Masi from this time represented a considerable investment, custom sized to perfectly fit the rider. Consequently they were generally kept safe and secure, a bike to last a lifetime of careful riding. This particular model is indeed in immaculate sound condition, especially considering its age. The paint has almost no scratches, and some steel is visible under the bottom bracket. We have decided to leave it in its original condition rather than touch it up. The down tube Masi logos are in superb condition, and the bike is extremely tidy overall. The group set is in excellent condition, and everything operates well. Components have been left original where possible, with just a couple of small tweaks.

Bronze / steel early Campagnolo Record derailleurs, in great condition, Universal Mod. 61 brakes, with matching levers. Black rubber hoods in great condition. 120mm Campagnolo Record hub set laced 32/32 to Brev. CBL wooden rims and a brand new set of Clement Griffo 61 tubbular tires. 1960s Ambrosio 39cm c-c aluminium bar and 125mm stem. Campagnolo Record 151 BCD crankset, 170mm, pre-date code. Chainrings have minimal useage with 53T x 45T and look almost new. Campagnolo Record 27.2mm seat post, and classic Cinelli Unicanitor black suede saddle.
