Chesini Precision road bike, complete with a Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset and 3ttt handlebar and stem.
Chesini are in our opinion one of the most underrated Italian framebuilders, consistently turning out top quality frames for racers and enthusiasts alike, and they are still thriving today. Their top frames were named ‘Precision’, and you can see why as soon as you look at the bike. Painted in an elegant shade of champagne gold, the bike displays many nice touches – the rear dropouts are filed to hexagonal corners and drilled. All of the lugs are nicely worked, and the head tube lugs are reinforced in the style of Masi. The top tube slopes gently down from the saddle to the stem, the first European example from this period that we’ve seen – check out the space above the head tube. Custom made? Probably.
The Nuovo Record groupset is in top condition, and is running nicely with a Shimano Dura Ace 6-speed freewheel. The wheel set consists of Campagnolo Record hubs, matched with dark anodised Ambrosio rims – perfectly trued and running straight. The 1981 rear derailleur has been cleaned up with new grease, and the spring tension adjusted. Sachs chain, new cables and bar tape complete the bike, making this bike one to hang on to. All in all, a top quality, professional grade racing bike with no dents, cracks, rust or any other problems. This bike meets the entry requirements for any L’Eroica-style event.
