Karl-Heinz Lüders was regarded as the foremost German frame builder of his time, held in high esteem for his expertise in building steel frames. Inspired by legendary frame builder Falerio Masi, Lüders bicycles were ridden to a great many World Championship wins and Olympic Golds by his loyal adherents. All of his frames were constructed with the utmost precision and painted in his legendary West Berlin shop. This example, a ladies step-through frame, is uncommon. Internal gearing and discrete front and rear dynamo lighting make this perfect for fuss free city riding, with looks that will be sure to turn heads. Built up by Lüders himself, the attention to detail is a testament to his ingenuity and perfectionism.
The frame is painted in an elegant fire metallic red, with white decals. The gorgeous fork crown has two fine gold painted Lüders prancing horse motifs. Stiff rear brake bridge and chain stays. Beefy round section chain stays that were the state of the art for their time. Tidy slotted cable guides under the bottom bracket shell. Tubing joints filed smooth on the inside of the frame. Lüders frames, never too flashy, were built to last. In remarkably good used condition, it’s as good as new. The wheels have been replaced and the bike has been fully overhauled.
