Pinarello ladies road bike with sloping top tube. Painted in an elegant red, with black logos. Giovanni Pinarello, born in 1922, was one of the generation that included Coppi, Bartali and Bobet. Pinarello was quite a successful amateur rider, racking up an impressive tally of road race victories which eventually earned him a contract as professional rider. In 1953 he used money which he received in compensation for handing over his Giro d’Italia starting place to set up a bicycle shop and manufacturing unit in his home town of Treviso. From then on, Pinarello bikes became ever more famous, and of course ever more refined. In 1975 the company finally achieved its first Giro d’Italia victory. Today there are not many brands with a similar number of triumphs in big races.
The bike is built up with a Shimano 600 EX group set, a combination of 3ttt stem and Belleri swept back handlebar. Set up with a 6 speed freewheel, the wheel set boasts Campagnolo Gran Sport hubs and new dark anodised Matrix rims (similar profile to the Mavic Open 4 CD). This bike amply meets the entry requirements for any L’Eroica-style event.
