Top quality road bike from Cavalera Cicli, in Bassano del Grappa, Italy – the shop still exists today. We estimate this example dates from 1984-85. Back when house brand bicycles were made to high standards using top quality steel and parts. Nice coppery ‘Cromovelato’ paint over a full-chrome frame.
Cavalera went to the trouble and expense of getting pantographed components made for their top bikes, and this one features a panto Gipiemme chainring, panto 3ttt stem and milled panto Campagnolo shifters. How many shops would do that these days!? Campagnolo Nuovo Record front (braze-on, silver, 3-hole) and rear derailleur. Short Campagnolo dropouts and Gipiemme rear brake bridge. 27.2mm Nuovo Record seat post, so you know it’s made with good steel, probably Columbus SL. Nice dark anodised Mavic GP4 tubular rims with only a little wear to the braking surface, laced with Campagnolo Record hubset. 36 holes front and rear. Ofmega crankset. Modolo Flash brakes and matching levers with intact ergo gum hoods. 2-bolt Nuovo Record seat post with NOS Selle San Marco Corsaire 313 suede leather saddle.
