It’s not every day that the opportunity to get your hands on an NOS, brand new, never built, never ridden
Somec steel frame, but today is one of those days !
One of the nicest frames in our collection, this beauty has been perfectly preserved since the mid-1980s. We are the first owners,
after buying it directly from a Somec dealer in Switzerland. Since then, it has been carefully stored in our shop, in a low-humidity
and temperature-stable environment. Like all Somec frames we see here at Cicli Berlinetta, this one has been well-finished with
incredible attention to detail.
Frame is now in top condition, with just a couple of very small scratches from storage, but nothing out of the ordinary.
The delicate Somec decals are in great condition with no cracking.
Frame features:
Columbus Air fork crown with engraved Somec logo, and aero fork blades. Campagnolo front dropouts.
Columbus SL main triangle, with rifling clearly visible in the fork shaft and bottom of the seat tube.
Aero Columbus Air seat stays.
Custom brass downtube shifters, mounted in an ‘aero’ position above the tube. Internal shifter cable routing, front derailleur
has a sleeve that runs above the bottom bracket spindle. Rear derailleur pops out at the very end of the chainstay.
‘Hidden’ rear brake cable routing, that sits in a recessed groove along the top tube.
Classic short Campagnolo horizontal rear dropouts.
Paint, chrome and decals all original from Somec! No reproductions here.
