Description

Lüders of Berlin ‘Style of Europe’ model hand built steel road frame, in a large 61cm size. All of his frames were constructed with precision and painted in his small workshop and bicycle store in West Berlin. Reynolds 531 tubing. Silver metallic paintwork with red and white decals. Fine gold hand painted outlines around the lugs. Short front triangle. Lüders engraved seat post binder bolt – another special touch! Drilled drop-outs front and rear. Semi-sloping fork crown with two Lüders prancing horse motifs. Provision for one water bottle cage on the down tube. Stiff tubular rear brake bridge and chain stay cross brace. Mega beefy circular section 24mm chain stays, that were state of the art for their time. Tidy slotted cable guides under bottom bracket shell. All the tubing joins are filed smooth on the inside of the frame, Lüders having been greatly influenced by the great Faliero Masi. Lüders frames weren’t flashy, but were finely crafted, noted for their stiffness, and built to last. Numerous professional riders won World Championships on his made-to-measure frame sets, as celebrated by the bands of flags around the seat tube. Headset pictured in photos is not included. In good, used condition.

  • Seat tube: 61cm c-c
  • Top tube: 56cm c-c
