1988 Legnano (built by Bianchi) Maurizio Fondriest Vintage Road Bike 56 cm c-c

The win of the energetic 22 year old Maurizio Fondriest will remain unreached as he won the World Champion title in
1988 at such a young age! But also champions like Binda, Bartali and Coppi rode to their victories on Legnano bicycles.
Fifteen Giro d’Italia, seven world championships and two Tour de France were achieved by Legnano riders.

That is enough to call Legnano amongst the most winning and prestigious brands of all times in the Hall of Fame
of Cycling. Founded in Milano, Legnano started manufacturing high-end racing bicycles around the 1920s under
the lead of Emilio Bozzi – by the time also owner of Frejus, subsequently kidnapped and murdered by the
Brigate Rosse in the 1970s. The brand was then sold to Bianchi and especially the top end frames have been
built in the Bianchi factory. This bike is exactly the same as Bianchi X4.

Legnano racing bicycles are easily recognisable for their typical Legnago-Green paint which has become an icon

of classic cycling amongst collectors around the globe ever since. This Legnano belonged to the young World Champion
Maurizio Fondriest. It’s fully original and 100% authentic.

The bike was only used as a spare bike by Maurizio Fondriest. But it has seen a few races.
It’s equipped with the matching racy III. generation C-Record groupset that still works perfect!
The paint is also all original and in excellent condition.
